Primp: Staying power, beauty products that survive the steamiest conditions

Bronzer is an essential part of our makeup regimen come summertime. So It Cosmetics’ Get Wet Waterproof Highlighter and Bronzer ($32), which you can find at www.itcosmetics.com, arrived just in time. The palette contains one bronzer and two highlighters that’ll withstand a steamy night out sans A/C (gasp!) or even a dip in the pool. The trio of shades punch up any skin tone and can be applied everywhere from cheekbones down to cleavage, abs, and legs.

We’ve been having far too much fun experimenting with Tarte’s new Lock & Roll Creaseless Eyeshadow Duo ($17). Available at Sephora (Prudential Center, 800 Boylston Street, Boston, 617.262.4200), the duo consists of two components: a vitamin E enriched cream shadow and a loose mineral-based powder pigment. The former paints on and dries in 10 seconds, while the latter is dispensed with a roller ball. The two bind together and don’t let go; they come in great shades, too.

Benetint from Benefit is one of those iconic products that we’ve been obsessed with for ages: we paint it onto our cheeks and lips whenever we need a healthy pop of color. So when sister shade Posietint ($28) crossed our desk, we got busy testing it — and were thrilled with the pink stain’s cheery, longlasting results. It’s brandnew, so be patient: Posietint will be stocked at Macy’s (450 Washington Street, Boston, 617.357.3000) by the end of this month.

Better than waterproof? When it comes to mascara, is there really such a thing? According to the folks at CARGO, there is: the aptly-named Better-Than-Waterproof Mascara ($20). The formula won’t smudge or smear, but there’s no need to chisel it off before bed, either — remove it with warm water and gentle pressure. Other pluses include vitamin B, vitamin F, and keratin to help build and maintain healthy lashes. Stock up at Sephora.

We despise the way our eyeshadow smudges off mere seconds after application on muggy afternoons. But we discovered a solution in the silicone-based Shadow
Insurance
($17) from Too Faced, available at www.toofaced.com. An eye primer that evens skin tone and smoothes fine lines, Shadow Insurance forms a barrier between oily skin and makeup and also keeps those dreaded shadow
creases at bay. Used solo, a little bit adds brightness to sleepy lids.
