Good Looc Charm
Audra Boyle opened her cool shopping haven, Looc Boutique, on Union Park in 2007. Since she and her now-husband lived a few blocks away in an apartment above B&G Oysters, she could always count on a quick commute, making her seven-day work week actually feel pretty cushy. The couple has since moved to Hanson Street, also a quick walk to work, and they still take advantage of the many bar and dining options nearby, sticking close to home on their nights off.
@ 6:15 p.m.: The store is open until 7, so my husband, Tripp, will grab Norman, our 185-pound mastiff, and walk him over to pick me up from work.
@ 7:30 p.m.: We’ll probably drop Norman off and go get a drink at the Butcher Shop since it’s close by. We’re wine drinkers, so we like to go in for a nice glass of wine and some cheese.
@ 9:45 p.m.: A lot of our friends live nearby, so we’ll meet up at the Butcher Shop and then head across the street to the Beehive or over to Jurys. With all the big sports events going on this past fall, we were out watching games every night, so we’d go anywhere there was a TV.
@ midnight: Because I work seven days a week, we call it a night pretty early these days. Our last stop is to come home and take home Norman out one last time.
@ 2 a.m.: By now, we’re all fast asleep.
